Weird, weird emotions

Just finished Oral Defence for the position paper. Which means only two more steps left in my quest to get rid of CTW.
I hope I don't fail it. I really hope. Oral Defence was bad. I completely didnt expect my tutor to ask me those questions. Yea, technically they are still related to my topic, but I was completely stunned and I stumbled throughout answering her questions, which I didnt at times and she had to visibly do her best to pull me back on track. Worst still, to have somebody who took full opportunity of ur failure to rack up some points for himself coz, even though position paper is a group thingy, oral defence is graded individually. I am feeling totally crappy. Since yesterday when I realize I have so many things to catch up for statics and mechanics. And the feeling got worse after the oral defence. I went separate ways with my two other group mates, who were heading for a same lecture. I can almost picture what they were saying after I left. "Wahlao, that Seng Yen ah, hopeless la...I dun think he even noe what he is saying." I wont be surprised if they reli said that. I dont even think the tutor felt like writing a recommendation letter for my JDP application anymore, not after the disaster, even though she promised me she will churn out something by Monday. Self-esteem heading towards a new low. Not good, not when exams are coming and the first two papers are the ones you dread most: CTW and Statics&Mechanics. Wanted to cook lunch at first, then decided to spend more time preparing for Oral defence so decided to eat in Engin after OD. Din feel like walking with my groupmates after the disaster, so decided to photocopy stuff at Central Lib first before going Engin. Then decided to just walk to YIH, but gave up coz weather was too hot. End up walking to the bus stop, thinking that maybe I should just go Clementi for a while if 96 comes before ISB-B. 96 came almost immediately, but ended up not boarding it again...decided to just take any bus that can take me to YIH. Was daydreaming on the bus so missed YIH stop and ended up skipping lunch entirely. And skipping tea too coz I dun reli like tau-sah-pao. Wahhhhhh...weird weird emotions sia. Even the post seem very fragmented. |

Ok..I still end up ranting a bit..the temptation is too great.
GEK project presentation is on 6th. And we haven't exactly started discussions!! So gonna die and I hate last minute work, especially on an extremely busy week. Position Paper due on 1st April. What a joke. I hope it goes well larh..and there is Oral Defence on 8th too. Statics and Mechanics (a.k.a the doomed module) Quiz on 4th April and guess what, I haven't started on it. Screwed up Physics lab today. Imagine finding wavelength of red light to be 480nm and 380nm. What a 'discovery'. Thank goodness Maths Assignment is done and handed in. CTW tutor asked me to write my own recommendation letter and she will look through..hoping to get it done by this weekend. Finals in 4 weeks. End of freshman year approaching!! And have to finalise vacation plans by 6th Apr. :( Got so sian-ed that I was half wishing I get kicked to PGP. But then after a while, started touching every single inch of my wooden table..get it? Tmr is D-Day..will find out if I am able to stay back in Hall. |

Amplitude

Was commissioned to help out in Amplitude, a choir concert put up by all 6 halls of residences, so..back in UCC Theatre, where I spent 5 days of my life in that tiny tech room last semester for concert. And everything seemed horrifyingly familiar...even the weird smell at backstage.
Sigh..it couldnt have come at a worse time..just when I was busy with my position paper of which we are still trying very hard not to go off track and start talking about something irrelevant (But good news is I only have 4 short CTW classes left for the rest of the semester!! YAY MORE FREE TIME). So basically, I mentally skipped Mechanics Lecture and half of Maths lecture, coz I brought in my extremely immobile laptop to the LT and did my work there. But anyway..went through the dry runs..a few spoilers: - KR Choir is seriously good, their acapella group did quite well also. No wonder they get the most on-screen (stage) time..but they are also the most difficult people to manage (Read: kiasu) - I still can't stop laughing at the TH girl whose voice cracked and went off-tune during her two dry-runs. - To be honest, RH acapella's "drama" is seriously lame. o___O. But I like Rainbow Connection!! - SH's acapella should be good if ever they are more serious...didnt turn up at their designated sound check timeslots, play play during sound checks, and lead singer MIA during dry run. Ahaha..I guess that doesnt count much as spoilers? :P Anyway I suppose I won't go for the actual performance..since I need to be there for the full dress rehearsal anyway...looking forward to block supper tmr oledi. Pizza!! Satay man!!! OMG I miss satay. Blk 5 suppers are the best!! Quote of the day for Monday: UCC manager: "Are you Akash?" (coz he noe him from our concert times) Akash: "Err..yea.." U: (stare at A from head to toe) You cut your hair. (Coz ppl used to recognize Akash's trademark big bushy hair instead of his face..the manager spoke to him earlier in the day but couldnt tell it was him. LOL) Ah well. Gotta sleep..make sure I don't freaking oversleep for my Physics lecture again. I still can't believe I did that for two Fridays in a row!! Damn embarassing. :( Coz I still cant figure out how I manage to miss al 7 or 8 alarms I set..as in I switched them off without knowing it. Maybe because it was Physics module...I duno. Grrr. But it shall N O T happen again!! Labels: CTW, NUS, Raffles Hall |

Frustrations

A man without sleep is an angry man. Sigh.
Last night's tech run was horribly long and slow and in my opininons rather unproductive. And after one whole night of run it was announced that the event cannot be held in the takraw court anymore as residents of the neighbouring Kuok Foundation House lodged a complain. That could mean one whole night of work is wasted. Tech run finished at 12 and dismantling our equipments took another hour. In the end I finally get to start working on my critique paper at 1.30am. The paper is actually due today, but my tutor decided that she can wait until Friday (since technically the deadline is the end of this week) but in a wild attempt to get into her good books I decided to sacrifice my sleep and finish my work. Ended up sleeping at 3.40am and waking up at 7.40am (I woke up at 7 and fell asleep again), 20 minutes before my lecture. Wahh... In the end, I didnt submit it yet because I suddenly thought that quality of the writing should be more important. And I didnt want to rush things. (update: handed in without additional edits) But on the other hand the position paper was horribly slow in progress. The other 5 groups have at least came up with some proper form of presentation while our group had a hastily prepared word document. One member did a lot of research, but didnt do anything to refine it. Another one had a skimpy research. And I didnt do anything. The member-who-did-work (MWDW) was kind of pissed off and had he been any closer to me and member-who-did-skimpy work (MWDSW) (we are still strangers to each other) we would have been blown off. Fine. I was wrong for not doing my part, apologies for that. Still it doesnt mean I wont do it, in fact I wanted to do it today after handing in my critique. But save my breath, he is probably too egoistic to listen to what we say anyway. MWDW insisted that we don't know anything about the topic and didn't bother to find out more. Sigh. Probably he was having a frustrating day as well because according to him he was reading about this until 2am. (Well, I still win, I did my work until almost 4). And so smart of MWDSW to leave immediately after class leaving me to face MWDW alone. I can foresee problems working with such people already. I even have doubts on how far we can get if we continue on the topic, which he apparently have not seen the difficulties and was still happily thinking that everything can be found online, and ignoring my point on this issue. Whatever. Sigh..final edits, hand in the paper and I can go get my nap. Sienzz. |
