Lots of posts to complete and I haven't really been writing much...Olympics being a distraction. So what else have I been up to? Work, of course.
Coming to the end of my 4th week at work, and I actually sort of have a bit more to do, handling a bit more stuff on my own. Officially took over my territories mid last week but because the all important system is not up yet...and people can't really remember I have taken over...the combination of both cause me to have lesser than expected workload. Relying on my partners to pass me work to do, while others tell me to enjoy while I can...because once the system is up I can never rest again. Sounds kind of scary...but challenge accepted! Just hope stress levels don't rise too high...and that I can go home before 7pm everyday, even though official working hours is really until 6pm only. But I guess I kind of underestimated the tiredness caused by work and travelling to work. Came back from work, don't really feel like doing much, but not to the extent of not talking at all. More like, can't understand how people can go take up courses, go exercising etc after work. Just wanted to nua and watch TV, online etc. Planning what to eat for dinner is also kind of hard...got bored of hawker centre food after a while, which surprisingly didnt happen when I interned last time. Another thing that was different is that I don't feel sleepy at work anymore, very much unlike my intern experience. Can't say I have a lot more to do as compared to last time, but I guess I can attribute that to better sleeping habits. Even though I can't say I am looking forward to waking up and going to work! Still hate that part. Going to take Basic Theory Test next month, once passed then I can convert to Singaporean Driving License, which is recommended for me so that I can do my "product research". Heh. And guess what? Because my name is apparently hard to remember...colleagues decided to come up with either nickname or English name for me. And they ended up calling me Bob. :S Because it is short and easy to type. Sigh. Should have suggested "Yen" or "Ah-yuan" or sth before they came up with that....still sounds kinda weird. Though I can feel myself starting to warm up to colleagues, which is a good thing because I usually take quite some time. The picture is still kinda blurry, but at least it's clearing up. ********************************** Grad Photoshoot last weekend with the McNair ppl, minus a few more faces. Enjoyed it more than I expected, though a bit bothered by the group's continued dwindling. Sigh. C'est la vie. There's something I don't understand...I guess I never will. My over-imaginative side is telling me this is just a continuation and the whole of last year is actually staged, but I think I will have faith that it isn't. Oh, and been back to hall twice last week, first for Homecoming a.k.a Float presentation and second for Legacy Dinner. Attendance for Legacy Dinner is just pathetic. So don't feel like standing up when Master went "Alumni, can you please stand up and show yourselves"...it's like telling the freshies that out of the 200+ of them, 9 will remain. Not a very good image for a hall, isnt it? Anyway, it confirms the fact that the place (be it McNair or RH) doesnt matter - it's the people that matter. ************************************ Will continue with the Taiwan posts next.
