Still got a point

Happened to go back and read some of my first posts here and find myself amused.
Started out this blog back in 2006, my first year in SG. It was kind of the "in" thing back then (I don't know if it's still popular among kids these days, probably not), and for me it's mostly for friends back home to find out more about what I have been up to. I genuinely wanted to share every small and trivial thing with them. Then it became kind of like a social media platform. I shared youtube videos, do tags by friends, go blog hopping to read about others. Then when the trend died off and less people started coming..it became a place for me to rant. About things and people whom I think wouldn't land on the page. A place for me to update, not necessarily the small trivial stuff, but mostly to preserve my memory of some of the interesting things going on in my life, uni/hall, and the minimal life outside of it. And oh yea, complain about the skin problems. These days I am finding less and less things to blog about, because I can't exactly rant about work (too much), or talk about the finer details of work and even if I do, I had to be careful with the words I use (which is too much work haha). And to be really honest there isn't much life outside work to talk about. There isnt even a lot of skin complications to rant about (which I won't complain, and touchwood). I am not exactly sure who still reads this (maybe leave me a message, haha) and I am not exactly sure who I am updating, and I don't really know who still cares. This sounds a lot like an ending message but it isn't! What I really wanted to say is that I will continue on! Like I said earlier, it's to preserve a part of my memory. I want to look back years later and still laugh/smile at some of the things I have said. So yea, this is turning into a personal diary of sorts. I did think of making it private, but I guess a part of me still hopes that those who have drifted away may remember one day, and wonder how I am doing, and instead of popping over to FB (which I don't really update), comes over to read. It is my way of keeping in touch, however unconventional it may be. Blog on! :) Labels: thoughts |
