So...first day of work.
Regretted for not doing my trials...got one route I wanted to try out but wasnt sure how bad morning traffic in Orchard was so didnt dare to try on my first day. Went straight to HR to hand over my passport for employment pass stuff...got delayed and it looked as if I was late for induction programme :S. 25 new staff on that day and apparently it was the third Monday in a row with this kind of numbers...and 6 of us from NUS. Watched corporate video, then went on a "campus" tour (they call it campus, for some reason...probably due to the fact that there are around 10 blocks in the compound?)...then attended a sharing session by people from the union..and settled admin stuff..where the only one important thing is given out....Staff Card!! Grants access to the offices and of course the most important perk for us...transport pass :)) Still feels shiok at the end of the second day seeing the words "Pass Usage" on the Ezlink readers instead of the fares deducted. :P Went over to my department after induction..was around 1130am alr. Met up with my buddy who also happened to be my team leader =.= Wasnt expecting team leader to be my buddy...was expecting maybe colleague or sth but yea. Brief chat, brief intro, then went out for lunch alr...at Tanglin Police Station staff canteen =.= Spent half of the afternoon meeting the people in my department...and there were alr 60+ of them @.@ plus my reporting officer..sort of mini-interview with him eh..prolly coz he said he didnt have chance to interview me last time round. Then the other half of the afternoon printing out maps and marking the territory which will be entrusted under me heh. Somehow dun dare to leave at 6pm coz everybody is still around but got chased back at 620 in the end. So yep..end of first day...not very eventful...but I suppose I can call it significant? Hahaha. Guess I am not really looking forward to waking up early and stuff but oh well. I suppose I will get used to it in the end. Part and parcel of growing up. :) Labels: work |
