The City That Never Sleeps

Recess Week!

posted : Monday, September 20, 2010
Wow my last post came when quarter of the semester is over. Duno what I have been doing after that, not updating and all, but suddenly half of the semester is over. Whee~~

Academically I felt that I am still in Week 0, to be honest. I seriously dont know what have been keeping me busy (Ok I know last week and the Hari Raya Weekend are taken up by CE3101 - more on that later). 5 modules - lag like crazy in one because "webcast" kept appearing at the back of my mind whenever I am in that lecture, not going very well in my least favorite module and flunked a quiz, lagging in one module but its relatively easier to catch up, slept through 4 and skipped 1 (out of 6 lectures in total) for engin prof oops. 3 hall activities, first one is kind of worrying to me because havent heard any updates from members (other than the 3 SEP writers) under me, self-imposed slacking (when i decided not to slack, I always happen to have sth on :S) in the second one and chairperson-imposed slacking in the third. T.T

Looking at all this, it doesnt seem very possible that I am horribly lagging but I am. The amazingness of life. Oh and did I mention? I am rather immensely pleased that I am an audience for concert this year. Though I cant help feeling sad at the loss of the concert culture, at the hands of a few people.

So much for my "big plans" (refer to previous post). So far the only thing accomplished was going for a run this morning itself (even that took massive effort) and ended up not going for TIG. Looks like I wont be joining any external CCAs in 4 years. How sad - no SEP, no minor, now no external CCAs too. Hall and CVE (even that was restricted to classes and projects only). Ahh I have a super unexciting uni life. Unless you count multiple project meetings etc as exciting (yea, mine are kind of less hectic compared to others, but enough to keep me busy).

CE3101 requires us to sort of mimic a real life situation where we were a company trying to bid for a project and eventually working on the project. The project in question this year was to design for Singapore's 4th university, following some requirements which are rather hopelessly vague and design up to a certain degree of detail is required. Last week's presentation was on pre-qualification where we were to convince the client to select us to handle the project, so each of us were supposed to take up some role, made up our own life story, made up our portfolio, present some of the "projects" we have done before, present some preliminary ideas to the lecturers, who morph into Campus Development chairpersons, EDB Directors and what not. T.T Meetings normally centered around "what if Prof Chin shoot XXXX (fill in some evil questions)". In the end it took away Hari Raya holidays, participation in some hall events and sacrificing some webcasted lectures but it was not bad at all! Way better compared to our first presentation, back when we were still students and not CEOs etc.

Skin condition pretty much got worse after float and I ran out of ideas on how to deal with it already. Yea yea should have gone to see a specialist but "I am busy" have became a rather convenient excuse. T.T

Recess week...just don't feel right if I don't at least spend a day outside. Maybe alone.
