The number of weeks left to my first paper.
Never touch anything except attending lectures physically and completing lab assignments for one module. Lagging but shouldnt have problems catching up in one module. Lagging but not confident of catching up in one module. Lagging but thinks needs to make a huge effort to catch up in one module. Lagging and being forced to catch up in one module. Not lagging but needs more time to sustain the momentum in one module. Not very positive over there, especially with projects and assignments and reports due. Thankfully hall activities are coming to an end. Havent end yet, but coming to an end. Missed DnD (I actually wanted to go for once) because of forensic class (which I wouldnt want to skip anyway) and will miss Night Cycling next Friday (being Friday night and there is a makeup lecture the next day). And there is the whole hooha about float which I would rather not discuss. Had been a lousy group member for one of my projects...was a problem-based learning project (which is quite dumb if you ask me - i mean the idea was dumb - how exciting can this get? We have been doing this ever since JC) and I havent exactly put in too much effort except actively participating in discussions. Talk much and didnt do much. Sigh. I should hate myself because I never like to have such behaviour in a group project and now I am behaving like this. Visited Science Centre for Forensic class on Friday night - yes, night. A few of the Science Centre staff stayed back just to host us and I must say the visit wasnt very eventful...conducted lecture there, moots demonstration there (both could be done in any tutorial classroom) and finally ended with a tour of the Genome Exhibits and Living with Viruses - after which we had to answer an essay question. Exactly why I don't know, but I suppose I don't mind that much...I think I was a bit disappointed coz I actually imagined they we are having a tour of the whole Science Centre. Guess it wasnt too practical. Anyway highlight of the night, ironically, wasnt the tour but was the trip back to NUS. You see, coz 6 people needed to go back to NUS (5 students plus a senior) and 4 students have already agreed to share a cab (cab fees reimbursed duno by who) and in the end profs volunteered to send me back. Whee! Haha..i sound like a kid...but I must say ever since I entered uni lecturers arent the nice tutors you get to interact closely with like during JC or sec school..for one, they wont remember you unless you are a really outspoken one, ask lots of questions during lecture, knowledge-thirsty person who bug them often. I have been a nobody (nobody nobody but..me?) in uni and it is nice to have lecturers who know me in person for a change...so they got to know me better during the journey back to NUS. Lolz. Bought bus tickets to go back to Malacca during Qing Ming...I really hope I can make it back...which is surprising because even though I bought tickets I am not 100% sure if I will be free to go back. Last year I wanted to go back only to be stopped by the dumb GEK project because nobody else is really doing work. Extra motivation to complete all my work beforehand? And there is vacation stay and holiday storage and what not to think about. Aargh hate this. Havent even give much thought about my 3 months vacation yet. Let's hope it stays as a 3-month vacation. Off to rest and prepare myself for another grueling week. |
