The City That Never Sleeps

The happening week

Last week had been very happening for me.

First there was Phoenix Fest rehearsal every night. Venue changes and lots of shifting of equipment around, untangling wires, and opening my ears big big to listen to the sound quality.

Then there was blood donation on thursday, nothing much too say about that, basically its similar to my first donation except that the queue was much shorter. Poor Stella got rejected after rushing down from her class and rushing back to PGP to get her passport coz she din noe have to bring.

Then ordering the chicken wings for the McNair BBQ - made a trip there to get frozen chicken wings, only to find out that they do have the fresh ones (they told me over the phone that they don't have) so placed order for the fresh wings. Then the people there somehow forgot all about it and I ended up sweeping 40 fresh chicken wings off the shelf and another half of those are frozen ones.

Phoenix Fest on Friday nite..everything went well..except for the drama which I think a lot of ppl think is our fault..well, the actors were supposed to arrange the position of the mics themselves - then they didnt. And they were standing so far from the mic can. We can't increase the volume too much either coz the mics were too close to the speakers and will cause feedback. Oh well..

But anyway! Recess Week started! Woohoo! And our first activity is the McNair BBQ!! SIgh..it didnt start well..coz the weather was fine in the morning and it suddenly started raining very heavily in the afternoon. Then it stopped for a while, during which we made our way to PGP...but it started raining again. Sigh. Decided to just cook in the kitchen using ovens...then mana tau after we started cooking the rain stopped and the sun came out. :S SO moved everything to the BBQ pit. Fire wasnt very strong so cooking was slow. But the good thing is meeting up with everybody :)

Then left earlier coz there is RH NIGHT CYCLING!! Never gone for one before and so was quite high before that. We were to cycle from RH to ECP following the route they gave us, which is a rather long-winded one coz it is supposedly the scenic route. We started slow..especially at the long and never-ending Dunearn Road where we clashed with another group. Sigh. A huge group of people cycling together was never a good idea. We did stop at Adam Road Food Court though for supper. And after navigating a rather horrible slope at Scotts Road I got cramps in both my thighs. :S And to make things worse after Scotts and Orchard Road while changing gears my bicycle chain got stuck. Rarh!! Thanks to JenSern, Ryan and Andrew who helped to fix it.

Clarke Quay has a very happening night life - I personally never gone there at this hour(3am) before. And in contrast the CBD area is like a ghost town. Tall buildings and no cars around..creepy. Even Esplanade with all its deco lights off and the Merlion who wasnt spitting out water feels very spooky. Eeeks. Our route clashed with the route for "Cycle Singapore" event and hence we benefited due to road blocks as the race marshalls were preparing..we owned Nicoll Highway for the night. Muahahaha. But we were forced to divert to an alternative (and shorter) route towards the end. Entered ECP vicinity at around 5am and stopped to rest at the beach and enjoy the sea breeze - relaxing man! Woot! Finally reached the destination - McD at ECP for breakfast - and basically felt like dying already after that. Butt hurts (sit on the small bicycle seat for too long) and strangely muscle ache not that bad yet. Reached RH at 8.30 am and slept till 5pm. HAhaha. Biological clock confirmed screwed up liao.

Tennis Intro Course tomorrow! Whee~~~
