The City That Never Sleeps

Sunday Brunch...

...at Antoinette, Palais Renaissance.

Reli start to appreciate these kind of food outings more and more. No reason not to...good food (most of the time) with good company! And now that there is financial power to support it too.

Considering it was a long weekend so that makes it a good excuse for an outing (somehow, it feels like weekends are always occupied now, too). Never heard of this place before, suggested by either Chris or Sam (heheh, I am forever the one tagging along and never the initiator).

Going down to the basement level

The decor actually looks better here. Though it's not bad in the first place lah.

What greeted us as we were brought to our seats...

Was like...ooh MUST try this later!

Simple menu design

Sam opted for Antoinette's breakfast - Choice of poached/scrambled eggs, grilled bacon and sausage, Pain de Mie toast....

...,basket of viennoiseries and orange juice! Thought there's a lot of food...but she finished it all the same. Hahaha.

Chris had savory crepe "Brittany" - scallops, prawns, squids, mussels sauteed with white wine and cream, perfumed with aromatics.

My savory crepe "Concorde" - roasted chicken with bacon and creamy morel mushroom sauce served on the side.

Desserts! Chris had macarons - "Antoinette" (Milk chocolate earl grey tea ganache with raspberry confiture) and "Chloe" (citrus yogurt and yuzu), I think. I cant really remember.

I do remember this though...this was really good! Le Royale - dark chocolate mousse 64%, almond meringue, hazelnut almond feuilletine, chocolate genoise and dark rum.

Sam had Antoinette - milk chocolate mousse infused with earl grey tea, chocolate biscuit, dark chocolate earl grey tea cremeux, raspberry coulis, earl grey tea crumble. (Yep copied the description straight from their website heh)

Kind of like the ambience there. For some reason (Easter, maybe?) the place wasnt very packed and that definitely adds on to the experience. Food is not bad, several things that I won't mind going back again to try, and would definitely want to try more of their cakes, macarons and other pastries! (Sidetrack, spell check picked up "macarons" and wanted to correct it as "macaroons", so I went to google and actually discovered that they are two different things.....whoops paiseh never knew that :S)
