KL Trip!
posted : Tuesday, April 23, 2013
I think pretty much every recess week throughout uni I have thought of sneaking up to KL for a short trip (or trying to get them KL peeps to come down for a visit)...while they did eventually made it down to Sg...we (or rather, I) never did make our way up there for a visit. Even after I started working...thought of making a trip every time a long weekend comes by but then always decided that I just wanted to nua at home in the end. Inertia is just super great. Until recently Stel pointed out - why does it have to be a long weekend? A normal weekend would suffice bah. Plus dun think Val can entertain us that long anyway.
So started looking at the weekend before Labour Day (though it wasnt a long weekend, figured that a short week after the trip shouldnt be easier to handle ba). Started checking with Val on her free days etc, looking at bus schedules...when we both realized we were booked alr for that weekend =.= quite spontaneously decided to bring it one week forward...val confirmed her availability on mon, we bought tickets on tue and wed, packed on thu and off we go on friday night! Friday night coz neither of us really wanted to take leave..stel was because she dont want to spend leave of trips to "somewhere like KL" lol...while mine was more because I thought it was kind of late to apply. Air tix were naturally super expensive so we decided on bus. Reached KL at around 12.30am...straight to supper + catch up session!
"Selamat pulang ke tanahair" Eh seh....
Straight to supper with Val! Mee goreng Raja was the best of the lot. My pick (Naan something Mozarella Beckham had the fanciest name but taste reli so so only).
Was around 2 + am when we reached Val's place...poor gal had to go out after tat to pick up her sister (who went clubbing and got drunk thus cant drive). Finally slept at around 5...and vowing to wake up at 8 so that we can go have dimsum for breakfast. Epic fail coz the only alarm we set was on vibrating mode...before Val apologetically woke us up at around 11am hahaha. She was working evening shift (2pm-9pm) so managed to grab a quick lunch at a coffee shop (full of classic Malaysian food though probably not the best) nearby...dropped by her hospital for a while before we headed to KLCC!
Lunch! The main items la.
"Hi, I'm yaya....."
Us! :)
Wootz braved the scorching heat and finally snapped this pic!
Panoramic view...only to realize the effect wasnt reli great coz can only see like half of the Twin Towers?
Met up with Stel's bro who "came out from the jungle"...and went around Bukit Bintang area. Decided to just go Petaling Street rather than staying inside Times Sq to shop...coz Stel thought she wont have time to finish it. Must say Petaling Street seemed smaller than I imagined it to be...thought it would have lots of street food stalls too (ok, maybe influenced by Taiwanese night market experiences) but think it wasnt too interesting for me in the end. LRT-ed back to Bukit Jalil where Val picked us up...then sent Stel to her cousin's place where she camped there for the night with her bro.
Thank god for pedestrian bridge from KLCC all the way to Pavilion..can't stand the heat.
Soya snow ice with taro balls and pearls from...
...Snowflake!
Think I look kind of sakai when taking this ahahaha. Outside Pavilion.
Dinner at a random Teppanyaki restaurant in Times Sq.
Some stalls lining out outside Petaling St..
Night market..things arent that cheap actually. Din really see anything I like either.
The gantry at the end (or was it beginning?) of the street.
Sunday morning...another dimsum attempt failed, this time coz I suppose our meeting time was kind of late I guess..headed straight to Times Sq on my own and later found out Val was at home all the while..she was supposed to work morning shift but got to know that her leave was approved at 4.50am in the morning =.=, then she couldnt summon enough energy to sms me abt it before falling asleep (though she did dreamt that she whatsapped me about it ahahahahaha). Hung around Times Sq for most of the day with Val and her sister, while Stel was wif her bro and cousin. Eventually reunite at TBS for the long trip back...thus ending a rather packed weekend!
Elections heating up...wanted to take a pic of the very kuazhang ones but whenever I saw one I wasnt in a position to take. Like one junction with hundreds of posters of Teresa Kok.
My brunch. And to think I used to hate mango when I was young.
Afternoon tea...
Haha ok the account seemed a bit boring huh. Mostly coz brain isnt really working alr...two frantic days at work with lots of work to clear (really seemed as if I came back from a week long holiday or sth but in reality I only took half an hour time off on Friday =.=) But oh well! A weekend well spent. Think I can do with more of these trips though. Hahaha. Labels: travel |
