Day 8: 逢甲夜市
The day when we covered least ground! Much of our time was spent travelling. Train to Taichung took another 2 hours...reached Taichung station at around 4pm. After visiting Hualien..had the impression that all other cities in Taiwan are like that except for Taipei...but was proven wrong again! Taichung seemed pretty happening, from my first impression after stepping out of the rail station. The best part is our hotel is right opposite the rail station! Checked into our room...can safely say all of us are disappointed haha. But will leave that for the next post.

Taichung City! Outside the Rail Station.

"Formation 1" outside the station.

Pretty much everybody has picked up some form of sickness at this point..nothing too serious, but it did mean our inertia was a lot higher. Slacked about in the room for a while..before finally making a move. If there was a disadvantage of our location..it is the distance from the happening district surrounding 逢甲夜市! Took us almost an hour to reach there from our hotel, by bus. Oh public transport here is established as well, using the EasyCard system as well.

Saturday night meant that the night market is super duper crowded. Sigh nothing much we can do about it. And because we reached pretty late..around 8pm....we are left with a limited time to explore it. Which is a real pity because there are just so many things to see/eat/buy!! We dropped off at the entrance where more food stalls are found, so we started with dinner..then after what seemed like a long stretch of stalls...we realized we weren't even in the night market proper and were just about to enter. :S Rest of the time dedicated to shopping...not enough time!!!

Think we took this bus. Hehe cant remember anymore.

Saturday night crowd...

First stop...papaya milk. Wasnt as good as what their publicity suggests.

XLBs! Sadly, the quality is not there at all.

All time favourite - 黄金地瓜球! They call it something else here.

甜筒比萨. Something new, but taste so-so nia.

More papaya milk! This stall was a lot better.

This is also pretty interesting. Chicken wing, stuffed with flavoured rice, breaded and grilled. No frying, but it looks as though it is fried. Tastes not bad too.

After all the food we had, we realised we werent actually in 逢甲yet. And no photos after that coz too busy shopping heh.

Left at around 1045pm...got a bit lost while trying to figure out where to take bus from and which direction to take...in the end we just managed to catch the last bus back to Taichung Rail station. Feeling pretty dead by the time we got back...but still manage to squeeze in supper lol. Another packed day next!

McD supper!
