失而复得

Yea..a bit of drama took place in my life yesterday.
I lost my student card yesterday. I shall not elaborate on how I lost it, but it was my fault more than anybody else's. After attempts to trace back my route from RH to the Central Forum, i gave up on finding it. I suspected I lost it just outside the main entrance of RH. So I went to the office to check if anybody found it and returned to the office. No luck. I went back to my room and checked NUS website on how to report a lost matric card. I am supposed to report the lost online so that the Computer Centre will block my card immediately if any evil guy who found it tried to use it for whatever purpose. Then I had to wait a few days to see if anybody returned it to me. Then only I can apply for a replacement which costs $15. I proceeded to the page for reporting a lost card. Guess what happened next. My computer hanged. Well, not reli, just that the screen that always gave me problems but has not done it for quite some time decided to be naughty again. It turned green. Sigh, I was like cursing la. Everything unlucky happened at the same time. Turned out it was a blessing in disguise. Hehe. After I restarted my comp instead of continuing with the loss report I decided to check my NUSMail first. My heart jumped in joy when I saw the title of the first message in my inbox. "Matric Card." "Hello, Mate, I found your matric card near raffles hall at 6.45pm today. You can collect it from me after giving me a call, My number is 9xxx xxxx. Cheers" I couldnt believe my luck! Turned out that the guy stayed in Kuok Foundation House which happened to be a minute's walk away from RH. So we met up and in 5 minutes I have my beloved card back. Hehe. I am going to love my card more (so that it doesnt desert me anymore) and sayang my comp more so that it continue to give me warnings in case I did something I shouldnt (like reporting lost of card when it has been found). Its funny how an episode like this and an item as small as a matric card can cause my mood to behave like a negative sine curve. (down then up then back to zero) So.... Thanks a million, Sanjay. You really made my day. :) Labels: NUS, Raffles Hall |
