SupeRHawt! Day One.

I noe it is 1.28am now. I noe I am tired. So I wont go into details.
Anyway..today is the first day of orientation..basically (yea i noe i said i duno wat to expect yesterday) but actually once the ice breakers started I sort of know what is coming. Ice-breakers were the normal few, plus some i haven played before, and I find that the hardest thing is not remembering other people's name but getting others to remember my name. Seriously. Probably "Seng Yen" is harder to remember because it is a Chinese name, and unlike the Utaras I did not make up an English name like "Chris" or "Steven" so that people can remember it...so.. After lunch and getting to know some more new friends, we spent the afternoon on some station games which basically tries to get u to discover ur own hidden talent or make full use of ur talent if u already had it. Makes sense? So some of skills featured including performing skills, creativity, courage, general knowledge (though it is not so general and kinda kiddish) and so on. Had tea (RH specialty), a small break and followed by dinner. o___O. Two meals in, an hour? Learnt the first part of mass dance (which is quite fun to learn), then the Raffles anthem and hall cheers (sigh, can never run away from those). And got various levels one, e.g hall cheer, OG cheer, block cheer etc. , and different varieties e.g response cheer, boo-cheer, victory cheer, meal cheer. So have to remember quite a number..and most of them are kinda repetitive. Highlight of the night is an event called SP (cant remember what it stands for). Guys and gals will be blindfolded, and led through opposing doors (if you can imagine what i am saying) like the ones in a flat and opposite door neighboors will be paired up. Then you will be led to a "chatting area" where you chat with your secret partner but you wouldnt know the identity of each other (rules of the game). Yea..and at the end of maybe two weeks, I duno, maybe you will have to do something special? Haha. But yea, my partner and I broke the rules (Sshhh...) and we tried to guess which OG we are in, by talking about our OGLs. And we found out we are from the same OG. o___________O. And we guessed each other's identity correctly and well, had a good laugh over it. Lol. So maybe we can plan things now (coz we both felt that the game was quite err...) and pretend to be surprised when we "meet" next time. The night is still young though. Watched video presentations about RH life and RH spirit and basically they are trying to show us into how we can be one big family. Can see about that. (Sorry, getting quite restless at that point) and it was around 11.45pm. Still the night was young. We proceed to the next level of bonding, within a block, and some smart people went to hide in their rooms with excuse of depositing their valuables. And we had some bonding games (in fact only one) to build up "block spirit" and yea, everybody got sweaty and stinky and (you name the other similar adjectives). So it was 1am before we were finally released. Some other blocks are not as lucky, ragging sessions continued and for us it was thankfully optional. I had a vaguely similar feeling, the same feeling I experienced two and a half years ago, feeling very restless when orientation had just started. I certainly hope it will, like last time, end with a blast. :) Better get more sleep now. Labels: Raffles Hall |
