[Quite long. If u dun feel like reading, dun] Considering the fact that i am currently reli very bored and the fact that my JC1 life (and hence my first year in Singapore) has almost come to an end, I shall do a review of what has happened for the past ten months.
26 December 2005. I arrived in Singapore, bought a laptop, bought a new SIM card, and had steamboat dinner wif my dad and his friend, my supposedly guardian. 27 December 2005. Got the shock of my life when i saw the hostel rooms (and the hostel itself). Never imagined it to be that way. Small, not reli a big problem, but for 6 ppl??? They must be crazy! Felt quite dsappointed and down for the rest of the day. Nevertheless, met my first friend here (Mun Hon) and spent my first night in the hostel, room 305, tossing around my bed, unable to sleep much. The rest of 2005. Met another room mate, Nayan. Met more friends. Had two outings with my friends (I mean, my old classmates, JiaXiang, Stella and Valerie).Had a MOE briefing and got lost with Ting Feng, Junyi, Mun Hon and Siaw Jing because we boarded the wrong MOE bus (which did not bring us back to OUR hostel). Had to go back on our own. Reached the hostel and found everybody else waiting for us to begin the hostel briefing. =S. After dinner, ANOTHER briefing..this time by our very own Malaysian direct seniors. On New Year Eve, went to Esplanade for countdown but went back to the hostel before midnight due to the immense crowd there and had countdown in hostel instead. 1 January 2006. Went to Changi Airport to see off JiaXiang. Spent the rest of the day shifting room to 203 (my current room), and met my new room mate, Kevin Chan. 3 January 2006. First day of JC1 (a level which proves to bit the most hectic year i ever had). Went to SAJC. Had orientation, subject talks and so on. I remembered feeling moody but i dun remember why. 4-6 January. Orientation continues. The rest of January. Sorted into my first intake CG, 06S01, the so-called scholar's class. the most slack month in JC1 i guess. Had two friends leaving for Malaysia, Piriyah and Su-Vern. Met a new room mate, Manit. Chinese New Year, but only had 4 short holidays, spent at Thailand, and didnt go back to Malacca this year (first time in my life i think). Got GCE 'O' Level results (on 大年初一 some more). Was hoping that I would scrap an A2 in Malay, a subject which i knew i screwed up a long time ago, but in the end didnt. Overall still reasonably pleased with other subjects though i din have much confidence in them. 8A1s and a B3.. February - 10 March. Term 1 continues. A few lecture tests, class tests, and I found out that i really hated GP. Another friend left Singapore, this time my pal Stella who decided to go back to Brunei. Orientation II and I was actually considering switching subjects, from Physics to Biology, and from Econs to GSC(something like GP in chinese). In the end I didnt (I was actually half regretting not taking Bio now, but grateful that i didnt take GSC at all, 1 GP is enough to kill, imagine taking 2?? Moreover Econs turned out to be the subject I performed best in.) Met up with the class I will be in for the next 1 3/4 years, 06S03. Remembered this very tall girl (Mei Lin) who claimed that she wanted to transfer class because she had no friends in this class. 11 March - 16 March. Went back to the place I grew up, Brunei. Went back to CHMS, the school I had been in for 12 years to take my results. Met teachers, friends. 17 March. Came back to the hostel (i still dunno y i came back so early in the first place.) Rest 0f March. School reopens. Met new teachers. Managed to get to know some local classmates who overall did not leave quite a good impression within me. They seemed to dislike us, the scholars. Rather surprised to get voted as a class rep (Was it sabotaging?) Already this new class is reminding me of my old class due to the fact that it was split into a few 'gangs'. Project Work began. (little did i know that this will turn out to be the nightmare of all JC1 students). April - May. Activities started piling up. Homework started piling up. Tests started piling up. Grades started going down. Got closer to classmates. Val got hospitalized. Have another two friends leaving because of JPA scholarships (Siaw Jing and Ting Feng). MRL Camp. Got into TAF (and out of it). AVA Camp. ASEAN Nite 2 June - 13 June. Went home. Met up with friends. Turned 17 0n 06-06-06. Stayed for one week only because of cousin's wedding on 10th June in KL. Went to KL. Didnt get chance to meet up wif some KL friends (actually there was a chance, but it was on the day of my cousin's wedding, so..) Went back to Malacca. No point going back to Brunei due to high costs and went back to Singapore from there. Rest of June holidays. Created study timetable but din follow it at all. Tried to study for upcoming Common Test but didnt reli work. 26 June - 11 July. Common Test. Studying, naturally, but kept on getting distracted by things like laptop and World Cup. Even woke up to watch the penalty shoot out during the finals, two hours before the Physics Common Test. Rest of July. Got back Common Test results. Wasnt too pleased wif Physics though i expected it. PW continues. Went for NDP. Took over CCAs. Got selected for crystal growing. Got selected for Khidmat Negara. ASEAN Dance. August. PW agonies, this time EoM. Singapore National Day. Econs Common Test. Top the class for it! Reasonably pleased with it. Me and My Local Friend Day at Sentosa. 28 August. Sad and gloomy day 30 August. JTS at Marina Bay 31 August. Singapore's Teacher's Day. Malaysia's National Day. (celebrated it for the first time in my life!) September holidays. didnt go home. Tried to study for Promos. Finish a 127-questions maths holiday homework. went out wif eng aik and val to ECP. Rest of September. PW...and preparing for Promos. 25 September - 6 October. Promos Rest of October. Got back Promo results. Almost failed GP. Didnt do as well as expected for Physics. Overall results good enough to secure scholarships. PW Written Report and Oral Presentation. MRL Current Affairs Quiz. SAJC Open House. Lessons cease. There you are, a review. But it is getting shorter and shorter..I also lazy to type haha. |
